On the Fence, written by Teenage bookworm

The book is about a 16 year old girl Charlie (Charlotte Reynolds) that lives in a house with three older brothers and a dad. She is the only girl because her mom died in a car accident when she was only 6 years old.

Charlie is a tomboy. She loves to play sports and fashion is the last thing on her mind. Charlie and her brothers had been friends with the neighbours’ son, Braden, forever. To Charlie he is like a fourth brother, because he is almost always at their house. But everything is about to change…Charlie is forced by her dad to get a job to pay for her speeding tickets and she’s not even a tiny bit excited about the idea! She gets a job at a shop that sells clothes and makeup. And all of a sudden she has friends that are girls (sort of friends) and she is totally lying about who she really is, since her style is nowhere close to girly! She meets a guy whiles out with her ‘girl friends’ and before you know it, they are dating! And of course he also doesn’t know who she really is.

Charlie usually sleeps without dreaming and the way she gets that done is by using physical exertion. With the new job and friends and double life… she doesn’t get time to run at night. So now, she keeps getting nightmares about her mom’s death and each time it is different.

One night she goes outside for a walk, when Braden storms out of his house. That’s where it all begins. They start talking to each other at night, while sitting with their backs to the fence. During the day they act like it never happened. Like an alternate world. And soon Charlie realizes she’s fallen for him. Badly. But she thinks/knows he doesn’t feel the same.

Her world becomes weird when she finds out why she’s been having the nightmares and the true story about her mom’s death. And something amazing happens between Charlie and Braden…

Oh my goodness! This book is a must read, for sure! I couldn’t believe that I was so melted into Charlie’s life, that everything around me disappeared. I don’t think I will ever find a book that could top “On the Fence”. I was super sad when I finished it, I almost cried! Please, please read this book. You will thank me! I found this book on e-Library and I think this is the most awesome thing ever invented! I love e-Library, it is the teenage bookworm’s dream. In the comfort of your own home you can get e-books and when you are done with it, you can just return it. I don’t know how I’ve been living without it for so long! Compliments to the e-Library team!
